The Claremont Hillel Internship Program

What is CHIP?
Discover everything Claremont Hillel interns do:
-
Students build programming across a range of interest areas including Shabbat, holidays, social action, Israel, earth-based Judaism, arts, sports, food, and whatever else piques students’ interests. Students build programming from start to finish and build a team of non-intern students.
-
Interns learn how to give a d’var Torah, host Shabbat, and learn various religious and cultural practices. The hope is that interns will take their Jewish education with them, so that they can continue to grow as Jews and as leaders.
-
Interns attend a range of leadership retreats, coaching, mentoring, and meeting with staff. Interns take what they learn from the internship into their careers.
-
Engagement work includes meeting one-on-one with students, tabling on campus, and being a friendly and welcoming presence at events.
-
Interns are expected to work 5 hours/week. They receive a stipend as well as many opportunities for professional and spiritual development. They also have a lot of fun!
