What Are We?
Claremont Hillel strives to be a responsive hub of creative activity that welcomes and engages the full breadth of Jewish students and serves as an accessible and compelling, high-functioning platform for them to pursue their interests, include their friends, grow personally, receive support and valued resources, and strengthen their connectivity to Jewish experience, identity, and meaning.
Values
At Hillel, we believe in creating a vibrant, inclusive space where every individual feels valued and respected. We welcome partnerships and diverse perspectives that align with our mission, fostering dialogue and collaboration while upholding our commitment to human dignity and peace.
Standards of Partnership
Hillel may welcome, partner with, and aid the efforts of organizations, groups, and speakers from diverse perspectives in pursuit of our mission. However, Hillel will not partner with or host organizations, groups, or speakers that, as a matter of policy or practice, do not respect the human rights, self-determination, and aspirations for peace of all people, including Israelis and Palestinians.
All invited partners are expected to abide by and demonstrate our Community Values. These guidelines do not restrict participants from engaging with speakers or expressing divergent viewpoints, but we require all interactions to foster an atmosphere of civility and respect aligned with our Community Values.
Community Values
-
Everyone is created in the image of God. We strive to nurture a space where everyone feels they can be their authentic selves while celebrating the diversity of our community and society.
-
We honor multiple perspectives and ensure Hillel is a safe space for dialogue and growth, respecting differences as long as they uphold the humanity of others.
-
Loving your neighbor as yourself inspires us to work with broader communities, promoting Tzedakah (צדקה)—justice and support for those in need.
-
Mistakes happen, but we seek accountability and restorative justice, fostering learning and teaching (Lilmod v’Lilamed, ללמוד וללמד) in a spirit of care and mutual respect.
-
We honor all forms of Jewish identity, embracing cultural, spiritual, and religious expressions. At Hillel, being Jewish is defined by the individual, and we celebrate that diversity.
-
Hospitality is at the heart of our community. We welcome all with warmth and inclusivity, striving to make everyone feel at home. If you need accommodations, please reach out to Bethany, and we’ll ensure your needs are met.

Fuel Jewish leadership, connection, and community!
